In the cold lands of Skyrim, villagers have asked the College of Winterhold to investigate a child's claim that her dead father has returned, while many in the village insist it is nothing.
Description:
To the Esteemed Masters of the College,
I write at the urging of several concerned townsfolk regarding a matter we are ill-equipped to resolve. A local child, Ingrid, daughter of the late Hrolf, has been claiming with increasing insistence that she sees her father standing outside her window at night. The man was buried a month past, and no one has seen anything amiss.
Most believe the girl is simply struggling with her grief. Still, her stories have become persistent, detailed, and disruptive. She refuses to sleep, speaks of footsteps where none are found, and has begun frightening other children. It is unsettling the village, and we would prefer the matter settled.
If this is nothing, we ask that you put the child’s fears to rest. If it is something more, we believe it wiser that the College investigate before rumor and superstition take hold.
—Signed, on behalf of the village
