ADVENTURERS WANTED
Couriers to retrieve and transport package.
High risk; high reward.
No questions asked.
Knock to inquire.
Description:
He was a wizard. Nobody recollects else. The elders say — in hushed tones after glancing over their shoulders — he arrived one fall morning nigh forty years back. He spoke nary a word and strode with purpose, oblivious to the villagers’ gawping. The light of the next dawn revealed a stone tower erected in Gorin Cowherd’s western field. Gorin did not make a fuss. He simply shook his head and moved his cows to another field. Wizard, after all. As the months and years passed, Gorin mustered the courage to return to the field and graze his cows in the shadow of the tower. The wizard was not seen again and the tower has been silent. Life moved on. Three days ago, an Adventurers Wanted posting appeared on the tower’s door. Since Gorin’s boy, Joris, first noticed the note, a crowd of trepidatious door knocking adventurers has grown around the base of the tower. Gorin, again, didn't make a fuss.

You are a member of the United States Colonial Marine Corps, and you are marooned on an uncharted planet. Your ship is in wreckage. A nearby structure may offer safety. What could go wrong?
Description:
Your hypersleep pod dragged you from your "braincation", and you have traded your dream for a waking nightmare. Or, as Sarge would say, "Another day in the Corp! Up and at 'em, Cupcake!"
The meteoric remains of your Conestoga class starship light the horizon as its burning embers rain through the atmosphere. Sliver lining? You can see, for now. But the darkness comes. What do you do? Shelter in place, in radioactive remains of the dropship? Or hump it to the unmapped ruins, nearby to set camp and look for a way to call for a ride?
Hoorah.
