Minor crimes are punished by time in the public stocks, while anything more serious than petty theft is a hanging offense. And for "malicious sorcery" that's beheading and burning of the body. These being times, it is the 21st Century according to their calendar as well, they've stopped burning then beheading witches and warlocks, though a vampire is not awarded such niceties.
