Historical, fast-paced, crisis-oriented version of the NSDM geopolitical-military-economic RPG. As we observe the 250th anniversary of key events in the American Revolution, it is a good time to reflect on the personalities, agendas, events and energies that drove decisions. From the end of the French and Indian War to the first battles of the American revolution, what brought the colonists from being mostly-loyal British subjects to armed revolt in only ten years? Role play the events leading to the American Revolution from the perspective of key figures. Experience the decisions, the diplomacy, the tensions, the frustrations; and there will be unintended consequences and the occasional unexpected, counterfactual-but-plausible event. After years of downward-spiraling relations between Britain and her American colonies, events reached the breaking point in 1775. The Second Continental Congress convened just in time to hear about battles at Lexington & Concord. These were soon followed by battles at Bunker Hill, Fort Ticonderoga, Fort St. Jean, Montreal and Quebec City. George Washington is appointed Continental Commander, Ben Franklin Postmaster General, creation of the Continental Army, Navy and Marines. Congress sends the Olive Branch Petition to try to reconcile, but instead King George III declared the Colonies in rebellion. And Patrick Henry delivers his "Give me Liberty, or give me Death!" speech. Panel by NSDM staff moderated by Capt. Come play a game of adventure! Together we will create not only a world of high fantasy, but the rogue heroes who inhabit it! We'll scribe our seeds upon the scroll of the world and have them be remembered forever!
We'll be playing Epidiah Ravachol's Swords Without Master, a storytelling game that uses only a single pair of six-sided dice. It has minimal rules and is focused on beautiful images of heroic tales.
We'll also be using Molomoot's When the Walls Fall to create a tantalizing ruin for our heroes to explore.
This is a great game for those looking to flex or grow their storytelling chops as well as a chance to practice some roleplaying and even a little bit of worldbuilding along the way.
All experience levels welcome, but especially friendly to newcomers at all of the above!
