Society members must use their supernatural senses, detective work, and defensive prowess to track down a supernatural entity running amok through Uppsala. When a Vaesen is inadvertently disturbed and brought into the city... the clash between folklore monsters and a rapidly modernizing society rarely ends well.

But now, the priest of the church, Father Martin has been found dead on the mountainside and strange events have been taking place ever since. Villagers are saying that they are cursed. Others believe that old gods have returned to exact their vengeance.

And in a land where industry and machines are making people forget their traditions... there are many ill-tempered vaesen to contend with.
