Join Darrington Press’s Daggerheart devs Spenser Starke, Rowan Hall, and Elise Rezendes along with special guests for a panel on the ins and outs of worldbuilding.
Description:
Players and their characters always leave their mark on the worlds they play in, but building the world has traditionally fallen to the role of game masters. Many modern TTRPGs encourage and provide frameworks for sharing worldbuilding with the players, which can heighten player investment and an interweaving of the characters and the world they’re in. In this panel, we’ll cover best practices of incorporating players into the worldbuilding process.
From princes to paupers, the colors and clothing you choose for your characters are an integral part of their story.
Description:
How do you show if a character is good or bad, a wealthy king or a cunning pauper, whether they hail from a city by the sea or a rugged mountain town? Join a panel of industry experts to discuss the use of color - and the choices of clothing and armor - that determine your character's story. Featuring Hero Forge.

This is a primer course on building safe communities. Whether your community is your Twitch and Discord, your LARP, or your online presence, learn how to cultivate best practices from the start.

Often times we don’t think about making a “community” — it just sort of happens around. With care and planning, you can learn the foundation of what building supportive, healthy communities looks like and how to course correct when things go wrong, manage parasocial relationships, and make lasting change.
Writers who have community thrive better in their creative work. Come listen to our panelists talk about the communities they participate in, best practices, and how to get started.

GM or player, we all find ourselves at one time or another at a TTRPG table in a conflict about rules, game play style, or satisfaction with the game. Join us as we talk about how to navigate them.
Description:
This panel will talk through different ways and techniques to have meaningful conversations with players and GMs and how to engage in what are sometimes difficult conversations to have at a game table.
Protect your work with a copyright. Control how others use your work with a license. Possible? How? Why? 25 years ago I helped create the OGL to address these issues. Publishing in a post-OGL world.
Description:
The internet is full of people who will confidently tell you what you can and cannot do with a copyright, what you can and cannot protect with a copyright, how and why you should use a copyright license, and most of them are wrong. Copyright law is a very grey, ever-changing field shaped by judicial decisions more than the written law. Recent Supreme Court decisions shape that law in important ways that invalidate a lot of internet legal advice. Three years ago Hasbro blew up the safe harbor of the OGL, and an explosion of licensing activity followed. This panel will explore the law, recent decisions, theories about copyright and games, and strategies for licensing.
