Mental and Emotional Bleed And Aftercare In Roleplay
Summary:
Join us for a panel discussion and Q&A on mental and emotional bleed and aftercare in roleplaying games. Whether it's LARP, TTRPGs, or others, let's talk!
Description:
"Bleed" within the RPG community is recognized as the emotional impact of your character's experience on YOU, the player. In the last few years, the American TTRPG and LARP have met progressive ideals such as inclusivity and equity with mixed results. This panel on ethical community practices elevates "playing make believe" by gathering a team of real life mental health professionals and lifelong nerds. We will explore the risks and rewards of topics such as aftercare methods to staunch/heal Bleed, trauma-informed communal resilience, and offer tools of how to identify, challenge, and respect when your player won't share the spotlight. Don't let your gaming group "Bleed Out;" learn to preserve and enhance it.
