Successfully designing around intellectual property is an important skill for creators and manufacturers in every industry, including the hobby games space. In this session, we will explain several example types of IP (patent, copyright, trademark/trade dress) and use brainstorming/open discussion sessions with the audience to teach them how to think about limits on IP and how to then design around the protections held by others. Even if you have experience with IP before, this seminar is intended to advance your knowledge and skills to the next level.
