This is a hands on class that covers a comprehensive step by step on how to brainstorm, set up and complete images and lettering on a miniature by hand painting details, also known as freehand.
Description:
In this class, students will start by learning to paint basic texture on terrain and continue into more complex details like lettering and images. Students will learn how to freehand from concept to application, breaking down the process in helpful steps. This class encourages a basic knowledge of miniature painting and to bring several small brushes with fine points for detail work as well as a large brush, size 2-3, for covering larger areas. Miniatures will be provided.

A miniature and paints will be provided. I will have basic brushes for you to use, but students are encouraged to bring a size 2 brush they are comfortable with.
This class offers a clear, approachable foundation for painters looking to improve realism and atmosphere in their work.

Come and cheer on 10 of the world's best miniature painters as they race head to head in a speed painting competition for charity. Standing Room Only!

10 Figures will be displayed on a custom base. There will also be a certificate with the artist signatures. The display and certificate will be sold at auction on Saturday of the convention. All proceeds will go to the Gen Con 2026 charity partners.
