Painting a model your way. Perfect for someone who wants to spend a no-pressure couple of hours splashing some color on something new. Preferably the miniature.
Description:
In each event, participants will be provided with the same model (a different model for each event!) and will be provided with the tools to paint it. Participants will walk away with the model they painted. All models will be pre-built, pre-primed, and provided by Wyrd Games.
What do ogres and mini-painting have in common? They have layers! In this class we explore how re-conceptualizing the painting process can unlock depth and complexity in your mini-painting.
Description:
Most people are familiar with layering in mini-painting as a technique for quickly creating color transitions and building highlights. But if we take a closer look at why layering works and extrapolate that out to the rest of the painting process, we'll discover a world of new possibilities with our painting. If you've ever wondered how the pros can create such evocative colors/textures/lighting/depth this is the class for you!
Learn how to use stippling at various levels of finish quality. This technique is only getting more popular, so lets learn it in a practical way!
Description:
Do you see all of the stipple painting techniques used at painting competitions, but have no idea where to start? Then this is the workshop for you! We will learn practical strategies around stippling, specifically how much pressure to use, how to apply the paint, where to apply it, and most importantly, the why behind it all. By the end of class, youll see just how relaxing this painting technique can be! Each student will receive a class bust designed by @asa_sculpts. Some paints and brushes will be available for use, but feel welcome to bring your own.

This non-metallic metal class will cover the fundamentals of how to create a painted metallic effect for your miniatures.
Description:
Are you frustrated with starting to learn Non-Metallic Metal? Then this is the class for you. We are going to cover the foundational steps of how to paint non-metallic metal. Due to time constraints, the style of NMM covered is simple and stylized, not display-level or hyper-realistic. This effect is a great introduction into the foundations of NMM painting, including high contrast, highlight and shadow placement, and how light reflects off metallic geometric shapes. Required skills: This is an intermediate-level effect, and students should be comfortable creating blends with techniques such as layering and glazing. A miniature will be provided as well as a detailed handout covering the fundamentals of non-metallic metals. There will also be brushes and paints available, but it is encouraged to bring your own quality size 1 or 2 brush.
