The class will be taught by Joe Orteza, 14-time Golden Demon winner. Students will receive a zenithal primed miniature to paint and take home as well as a painting pamphlet! Joe will teach some of his basic to intermediate painting techniques. He will talk about competitive miniatures vs tabletop. Joe will also discuss, and teach basic color theory, brush techniques, paint fluidity, zenithal priming, painting mid tones, highlights, shadows, and flesh tones!
Make a silicon rubber mold using dice, meeples, terrain pieces, & other geeky objects. The mold is yours to take home or use in the resin and/or plaster casting classes.
Description:
Make a five-sided, silicon rubber mold out of dice, meeples, pre-cast miniature terrain pieces (all provided by the instructor), or another non-licensed object you bring with you. If you want to make a mold of an object made of clay, it must be completely hard (fired or air-dried) before it can be used to make a mold. The mold you make is yours to take home, though it can be used before you leave Gen Con in the resin casting classes taught by the same instructor.
This is a chance to learn methods of matching skintones, how to highlight and shade for a variety of non human skin tones, and give you the opportunity to practice on a model of your own.
