You play proper Victorian attendees at a soiree. Think a Downton Abbey/Eastenders/Agatha Christie mashup. Someone ends up dead, but secrets abound and protecting your reputation may be more important!
Description:
Arsenic & Lies is a great introduction to LARPing for new players for the same reason people who've LARPed a lot might like it -- there are almost no rules to learn, and there are no hard and fast goals or winning.
LARP is sort of like a tabletop roleplaying game or improv -- you're playing a fictional character, and you say what they say and do what they do.
Arsenic & Lies is a chance to dish hot Victorian gossip about your family members and the local townsfolk while trying to keep your own nose clean! Is it true? Maybe! Is it fun? Yes!
Characters will be chosen there, and we'll establish a couple of relationships, goals, and secrets characters might have then. There's nothing to memorize ahead of time, but if you'd like to come in costume, I'm sure everyone would be amazed. It's definitely not required though.

"I had the pleasure of playing The Road not Taken, run by MorganJ at Gen Con 2024. This game was my absolute favorite of my entire Gen Con experience. It was such a cool idea, and the setting/ambiance was perfect. I would love to play it again!"

Description:
When you first sold your body into their service, the Company wiped your brain of all personality and memories. Then over and over they imprinted you with new minds, sent you out on dubious missions, and wiped your brain again. Now that your term of service is over, you are being given the chance to become who you originally were and to be released back into the world. But what sort of terrible situation were you in before? Were you just down on your luck, or were you a hardened criminal? And when you find out who you were, will you want to return to your old life?
