Megagames are board game/RPG hybrids with large player counts (generally 35+). The Megagame Coalition will give a broad overview of the US/Canada MG scene and go over exciting developments!
Long Description:
Megagames are an exciting and relatively under-explored genre of gaming which has enjoyed quite the renaissance in recent years. And although covid prevents the massive in-person megagames, the megagme scene is still adapting, evolving, and preparing for future megagame events! If you've ever been curious about megagames or are interested in designing one yourself, this will go over how to find games, some design basics, discuss megagames which have adapted to online settings, and highlight some upcoming megagame events for the future! The event will be hosted and moderated by the Megagame Coalition. The Megagame Coalition is a volunteer-run organization of megagame groups and individuals who make up the designers, organizers, moderators, and enthusiastic players of megagames.
