We all know about film scripts so terrible nobody wants to touch them. But what about when a script is so terrible it drives people insane? That's when the Department of Special Maintenance steps in.
Long Description:
Have you ever wondered if the reason so many Hollywood stars go a little nuts is because they encounter sanity-shattering horrors in their line of work? The Department of Special Maintenance doesn't have to wonder, because it's their job to protect Hollywood from the strangeness the city attracts. Made up of various consultants, stuntmen, technicians, and the like, the DSM is given the often-thankless job of protecting Hollywood from the monsters and forces the studios dare not speak of. This time, it's a script the studios dare not speak of; a slasher film so impossibly terrible only the most desperate look twice at it. When they do, the writing's a trap: when actors study the villain role, read the dialogue aloud, and ponder the slasher's motivations, they find themselves becoming the slasher for real. When someone picks up a copy and can't put it back down, it's the DSM's problem.
