Life in the village of Hjorn is never easy, but now the viilagers have a new problem to deal with. Every few nights, someone in the village disappears. To make matters worse, a change has occurred in the nature of the disappearances. At first, all of the victims where adults. Now, children are disappearing. Our heroes are newly arrived in town and while not automatically suspects in the disappearances, they are strangers in the village, and are viewed with wary suspicion. However, when it becomes apparent that the heroes are Hjorn's only hope of deliverance, the villagers almost gladly give over the burden of dealing with this issue.
